Main challenges
Client's needs:
- Explaining the complexity of the GDPR to recipients of the campaign - translating the intricate legal language into simple messages that everyone can easily understand.
- Producing a necessary network effect - so that people would share information about the drive and materials related to the campaign via social media.
- Establishing the “GDPR for the Patient” campaign as a reliable source of information on personal data in healthcare for patients.
- Creating a series of materials that are distributed by the partners active in communication regarding GDPR with patients.
Target’s needs:
- Get uncomplicated access to complex legal information in the form of transparent and reliable messages.
- Be aware of individual, fundamental rights and understand them.
- Rely on GDPR as a useful and protective decree.
- Obtain reliable answers to common questions such as “Who is the person processing my data?” or “Do I have to allow for my data to be processed while booking a medical visit?”
Action required to satisfy client’s and target’s needs
Our team was aware that advice on strategic communication solutions for campaign authors will be crucial. Creating high-quality materials that will get accepted not only by the client but also by project partners was one of the biggest challenges.
Moreover, we had to meet the demand to develop a broad campaign that would include events, websites and patient’s materials that would be homogenous and consistent.
Our approach - the process
- We begin with a wide-ranging discussion to understand the individual needs of our clients. Kickoff discussion with the client - getting to know their needs.
- Diligent, strong research of the region/core values and tradition.
- Detailed exploration of social awareness about GDPR - getting to know the needs of target groups.
- Strategy planning within the whole team, choosing target digital channels, PM assignment, brand heroes. We developed a proposal of an appropriate design and form of materials needed to achieve the goal.
- Client's approval of strategy. Acceptance of strategy by the clients.
- Meticulous, detailed planning of workflow and content, task division.
-
Creating brand heroes and a scenario. Why? GDPR being a decree is an abstract concept. Such a measure simplifies communication and allows presenting complex matters in an intelligible fashion.
-
Simultaneously:
- Extensive medical research followed by written content creation
- Graphic design
- Website development
- Editing, proofreading, corrections.
- Presentation and acceptance of final materials.
Project highlights - the solution
Visual identity
We created visual identification, which was supposed to be associated with the health care system.
Web development
We focused on preparing a www service that would stand as a knowledge base - substantive, accessible and patients-friendly. The proposed solution included:
- elegant design matched to the weight of the event and influential partners,
- illustrations aiming to diminish negative emotions surrounding the subject of GDPR in healthcare,
- an intuitive and transparent interface that allows patients to navigate smoothly around the website as well as to find key information.
Illustrations & animations
We relied on animations and illustrations to comprehensively explain complexities related to patient rights. Our main characters (brand heroes) have become an inherent element of the remaining materials. We have built a scenario that holds the content together.
Extra materials
We have completed a series of materials based on content prepared by external experts.
Online materials
We have created materials that each of the interested parties could include on their website. External distribution would allow patients to have a place where they can obtain reliable information about the GDPR.
Printed materials
Interested parties could also download printed materials suitable for distribution in medical facilities.
